The Gates

In 1979 Christo and Jeanne-Claude began conceptualizing on a project to drape Central Park.
Three years ago in February 2005 the park was brought to life with completion of this project. Glad to have my Toshiki and Maryszka shearling on this cold winter morning, I await the unfurling of the orange fabric that would envelope the park

As the fabric came down at around 8 am, we wandered thru the park entranced.

For miles you could follow their beauty, forgetting the winter cold,
feeling the winter morning in a new orange glow.

I couldn't get enough. Here on another day taking photographs with friends from Art school at the University of Utah, Greg and June Crane.

Being just one at the time, here is Toshiki with our puppy Halle..........her first public art project-quite exciting!

Christo and Jean-Claude gave all New Yorkers and the world a gift that winter - a new vision of the park, a walk that might not have been taken, over and over again.
