Crafts at the Castle

We had to make a hard choice this year as many of the shows we do are held on the same weekend. We are now in Washington DC at the Washington Craft Show, but if you live in the Boston area and would like to make an appointment, I will bring the collection up during the week of December 15th. Please email or call if you are interested. 917.771.9544 or Thanks and hope to hear from you.

The Washington Craft Show

The studio is once again in chaos as the Toshiki and Maryszka line of shearling coats and jackets gets packed
up again for a show in Washington DC this weekend, at the Washington Convention Center, from Nov 30-Dec 1.
Crafts America is the promoter, and they are known for the consistantly high quality of work exhibited at their 3 shows.
This year is the 20th Aniversary of the show, and if you live in the DC area, a show not to miss. There will be many
interesting events to commemorate their 20th year.

Detail of stitch and color.

An order completed before the show.

Trunk Show

I did a trunk show saturday at a nice shop in West Hartford, Connecticut,
Japanalia EIKO. Having grown up in Connecticut, I always thought going
to West Hartford to shop was the epitome.............I have known the
owners as long as I have been in business, and it is always a treat to go
there, and business was good.
Here is Karen in a Toshiki and Maryszka shearling cape.

Wearing our History

We first showed the Toshiki and Maryszka leather jackets at the Philadelphia Craft Show about
18 or 20 years ago, and this year someone came wearing a piece she purchased at that first show.
Wow! We were wowed. She wears it a lot and still looks great, and the leather is in great condition.

Melissa and Ingrid in jackets they purchased in previous years.

And finally, our booth at the show.

Working overtime

I have been working nite and day getting ready for our biggest show of the year, the Philadelphia Museum of Art Craft Show, which begins next week. Not only have we been trying to create our best work of the year for this show, but we have upgraded some components of our display, which always takes a lot more planning and time than you think.

The pressure is really on because the Museum Show has such a loyal following and we have developed a strong customer base for our shearling coats there. They truely appreciate our work, and participating in this show for many years has really given us a chance to be independent designers and makers living and working in the United States. Thank you Philadelphia!

I did get into the studio with the camera today and caught Rose cutting lambskin tapes to peice together
for trim (as our dog Halle looks on),
And finally a look at some of the colors I put together, using a beautiful cappucino shearling we recently found. I think
the combination with black is yummy.

Hope you all get a chance to come to the show!
